A selection of old & new chemical labels

Clear & Concise Chemical Labels

Any hazardous material, chemical or substance must through hazcom (hazard communication) be very clearly identified through labelling.  Using a chemical as an example the label must detail the following: a signal word, a hazard statement, a precautionary statement, supplier identification, and a pictogram.

Gilly Print will work with you to create the best chemical labelling solution possible.

Created by the United Nations GHS is the Globally Harmonized system of Classification and labelling of Chemicals and is internationally recognised. To replace the various classification and labelling standards that currently exist in various countries GHS labels have been created. The European Commission has, therefore, created the CLP regulation (European Regulation on Classification, Labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures) which has adopted this new GHS system. The regulation came into force on 20th January 2009 and was enforced by law in all EU member states in 2015.

In accordance with current transport regulations all chemical and hazardous products must be clearly and correctly labelled. Label material must adhere to legal guidelines such as BS5609. Your hazard labels can be custom printed or blank. Chemical labels vary in shape and size from small bottle labels to chemical drum labels. Perfect for all road, rail, air and sea transport. Fully compliant with ADR, RID, IMDG and IATA regulations.
